Report a stray or nuisance animal:
To report a stray or nuisance animal during normal business hours, call the Walker Animal Shelter at 225.791.3482. To report an emergency at night, on weekends and holidays, contact the Walker Police Department at 225-664-3125. Unfortunately, we do not have the capacity to accept animals from outside the Walker city limits.
Missing pet?
If your pet is missing, please call the Walker Animal Shelter at [225] 791-3482 as soon as possible. Provide a photograph if you have one. We will make every effort to reunite you with your lost pet, including alerting the community via our Facebook page to be on the lookout. You can also post fliers and put an announcement online. Adoptions:
The Walker Animal Shelter makes every effort to find loving families for stray and abandoned pets in our care. Our adoption fee is $55.00, which includes age-appropriate vaccinations (including Bordetella), de-worming and flea-prevention treatments, heartworm occult tested (dogs under 6 months), on heartworm prevention medication and have been spayed or neutered.
