JOB SUMMARY
Perform inspection responsibility for assigned services and activities of the Building Department to ensure public safety and health including enforcement and implementation of the City of Walker building codes and ordinances.
PREREQUISITES
International Code Council (ICC) Certification
Valid driver’s license
High school diploma or equivalent
ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES
Perform duties including but not limited to:
•Inspections, planning and zoning regulations
•Assist the Floodplain Administrator for floodplain management enforcement
•Code Enforcement Officer
•Assisting with addressing 911 Intrado Database
•GIS Mapping
•Customer service at the front counter
•Address customer complaints and concerns
•Application intake
•Issuance of building permits
•Contractor licensing
•Wide format printing and scanning
•Coordination with other departments and agencies
•Attend continuing education classes to keep current on codes
•Utilization of the Clerk of Court site and the Livingston Parish Assessor site for daily data to aid in job requirements
•Maintain regular and reliable attendance
•Other duties as assigned
Monday – Thursday 7:00 a.m. – 5:30 p.m. with benefits

The Assistant Clerk of Court for the Walker Mayor’s Court will assist the Clerk of Court, City Attorney and Judge with clerical and administrative duties including preparing for court and attending court twice a month. Extensive telephone and in person communications with the public. Candidate must possess excellent communication, organizational and customer service skills along with computer skills. The Assistant Clerk of Court will also collect payments for fines/tickets as well as other duties delegated by the Clerk of Court.
